Signing machine

Well, the boy may not say much, but he is a signing machine! It's nice to be able to communicate with him (mostly. The other day he was signing all done the second we sat him at the table to eat. He didn't like what we were serving.) He did start saying "da" (Dog) consistently, which is good. We thought he was saying this a while ago and then didn't hear it again. It's back!

His list of signs is now pretty long, which is good:
  • Drive/car
  • Music
  • Help
  • Bath
  • All Done
  • More
  • Eat
  • Milk
  • Bye
  • Yes/you're welcome (Kind of a weird Japanese nod)
  • No

Now we're working on:
  • Movie
  • Shoes
  • Socks
  • Cheese
  • Change (as in diaper change) Wouldn't it be great if he could say when he needed to be changed? It would be a huge step towards potty training!

If you want to learn to talk "Owen," here's a useful sign language dictionary (with videos!)
